Indiana philanthropist Eugene Glick dies at 92

INDIANAPOLIS – Prominent Indianapolis businessman and philanthropist Eugene Glick has died at age 92.

The Gene B. Glick real estate company he founded says Glick died Wednesday at his home.

Glick and his late wife Marilyn gave tens of millions of dollars over the past two decades for a wide range of projects, including the Indiana University School of Medicine’s Glick Eye Institute, the Indianapolis Cultural Trail, the Indiana History Center and the Indianapolis Art Center.

Gov. Mike Pence says Glick will always be remembered in Indiana “for his heart of gold and commitment to leaving this world better than he found it.”

Glick started his company soon after serving in World War II. It became a major home developer and later began building and managing apartment complexes in several states.
