Verbatim: Monday morning fire damages State Blvd. restaurant

A report received Monday morning concerning a 4:38 a.m. fire at the Tasty Pizza building at 2727 E. State Blvd.:

Fire crews arrived to find heavy fire on the second floor, front of the building.

Crews made an interior attack and had the fire under control in 12 minutes.

Crew remained on the scene overhauling the second floor extinguishing hidden fires.

No one was in the building and there were no injuries.

The blaze caused moderate fire and smoke damage, heavy water damage and remains under investigation.

The fire department was assisted by FWPD, NCE, and the Board of Health.
