Tim Cason, a three-star prospect out of Clarkston (Mich.) High School, has decommitted from Western Michigan and committed to Purdue, according to a report from GoldAndBlack.com, an affiliate of Rivals.com.
Cason was offered a scholarship by the Boilermakers on Monday night. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound cornerback is the No. 53 player at his position according to the 247Composite, a service from 247Sports.com that aggregates the rankings of four major recruiting websites into one consensus rank.
Cason became the ninth commitment in the Purdue 2014 class, and he is the second defensive back the Boilermakers have taken. Carroll senior Drue Tranquill, who could see time at safety or linebacker for Purdue, is the other secondary commitment.
