Injured cyclist in U.S. 127 crash identified

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has identified a cyclist injured in a Saturday-evening accident on U.S. 127 north of Bryan.

The patrol said a 2013 Toyota Prius driven by Stephen J. Seibert, 66, of Findlay, Ohio, was headed southwest on U.S. 127 about 6:10 p.m., and a Band Trailblazer mountain bike ridden by Tim A. Vance, 51, of Bryan was headed northeast.

Vance drove into the path of the Toyota and struck it, the patrol said in a statement. He was thrown off the bike onto the roadway.

Vance, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken by Williams County EMS to a Bryan hospital, then flown to a Toledo hospital. Seibert and his three passengers were treated at the scene.

Seat belts were in use at the time of the crash, the patrol said.

The Bryan police and fire departments also provided assistance at the scene.
