First, a disclaimer: I have no particular allegiance to Matt Schaub.
He's not on my fantasy team. I don't cover the Texans. I wouldn't know the man if he drilled me in the schnozz with a 20-yard out.
But I hope the guy throws, like, four touchdown passes this week. Because of this.
Look. We all know fans are idiots. It's practically a working definition. But there are idiots and there are idiots -- and then there are these losers, who showed up at his home to berate him for his tendency this year to throw pick sixes, and (here's where it really gets creepy) take pictures of his young children.
I don't know if Schaub owns a dog or what kind it is if he does. But that's the point where you set the Rottweilers on 'em.
I understand these guys are public figures. But when you start coming to their homes and getting their kids involved, that's a deal-breaker. Pretty much whatever Schaub had decided to do at that point, within reason, I'd have had no problem with.
Instead, Schaub did the right thing: Called the cops and alerted NFL security. The idiots du jour were gone by the time the cops arrived, but here's hoping they track 'em down. And throw the book at 'em.
