Free Medicare SHIP insurance information session set in Fort Wayne

The State Health Insurance Assistance Program has scheduled a free informational session from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the downtown Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza.

The State Health Insurance Assistance Program has scheduled a free informational session from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the downtown Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza.

The event, scheduled in meeting rooms B and C, is open to the public. No reservation is required.

SHIP provides unbiased health insurance information for people with Medicare. It does not sell insurance and is not affiliated with any insurance company.

Fred Taube, the scheduled speaker, will address topics including how the Affordable Care Act affects Medicare status, how deductibles will be affected and what insurance plans will be available next year.
