K's cruising so far

They are up 2-0 after 1 period

After one period at Memorial Coliseum, the Komets lead the Wheeling Nailers 2-0 in an exhibition game.

Scoring for Fort Wayne have been John Dunbar and Chris Auger.

Dunbar found the net, after a give-and-go play during an odd-man rush with Tristan King.

Auger's goal came with the Komets short-handed. They had dumped the puck into the Wheeling zone and Scott Fleming won a race for it, then set up Auger for the goal and a 2-0 lead.

John Muse has been excellent in goal for Fort Wayne with nine saves.
