A man mugged a woman and robbed her of her methadone right outside the Center for Behavioral Health on Monday, according to a Fort Wayne Police report.
Officers were called to the center, 1414 Wells St., where they talked with the woman and a man who witnessed the robbery.
The woman told police she was leaving the methadone clinic when a man began walking “briskly” toward her, according to the police report.
The woman hurriedly tried to get into her vehicle, but before she could, the man snatched at a container in her hand that had six vials of methadone inside.
Even though the woman resisted, the man threw her to the ground, knocked the container from her hand, scooped up the methadone and ran off.
Another man who witnessed the robbery told police he heard the woman calling for help before he looked over and saw the struggle.
This man tried to chase the robber, who fled north on Wells Street, but he told officers he lost the robber between some houses.
