College football preview: Adrian at Trine

Records: Trine (3-3, 0-2 MIAA), Adrian (5-1, 2-0)

When: 1 p.m. Saturday

Where: Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium, Angola

Radio: 88.3 FM

Scouting report: Trine continued its midseason tumble, losing 41-27 at Albion for its third straight loss. Trine led 17-13 early in the third quarter, but the Thunder was stung by big scoring plays in the second half: a 66-yard run, a 53-yard pass and an 18-yard run. Now Trine must right the ship against an Adrian team that’s won five straight and is limiting opponents to just 9.0 points and 256.2 yards. Opponents are averaging just 3.7 yards per play and 2.9 yards per rush against them. That will pose a challenge to a Trine offense that is averaging 25.8 points and 406.2 yards per game behind running back Richard Gunn, who gashed Albion for 226 yards and two scores last week and is averaging 123.2 yards per game and 6.5 yards per carry.
