High school football: 5 Games to watch

Wayne (6-2, 4-2) at Snider (6-2, 5-1): Depending on the outcome of the North Side-Northrop game a day before, this Saturday matchup could have ramifications toward the SAC championship. It will also be a preview for a first-round sectional game that will occur in two weeks. Last week, Snider beat Bishop Dwenger 38-35, and Wayne defeated Northrop 28-0.

Homestead (5-3, 3-3) at New Haven (7-1, 5-1): The Bulldogs get another chance to clinch the outright conference championship. A loss and wins by Carroll and/or East Noble would mean a share of the title. New Haven fell for the first time this year 30-6 to East Noble, and the Spartans dropped their second straight, losing 28-26 to Norwell.

Heritage (5-3, 4-1) at Garrett (4-4, 2-3): With a win and a loss by Leo, the Patriots can still tie for the league title. This matchup will be repeated next week in a 3A sectional opener. Heritage lost last week to Jay County 32-27 and has dropped two of three, while Garrett has lost three of four with a 35-7 loss to Leo last week.

Churubusco (7-1, 6-1) at Lakeland (6-2, 6-1): The Eagles are coming off their first loss of the season last week to Fairfield, 35-14, while the Lakers lost a non-conference game to Concordia, 35-3. The team that comes out on top will clinch a share of the conference title.

Warsaw (6-2, 5-1) at Concord (6-2, 5-1): The scenario is pretty simple, with the winner being the Northern Lakes Conference champion. The Tigers have won three straight, including a 28-7 win over NorthWood last week, and the Minutemen have lost two of three but beat Northridge 35-7 a week ago.
