Chris Auger

Notes: Was a top-line player for the Komets en route to the 2012 CHL championship, scoring 28 goals and 59 points in 57 regular-season games and 10 goals and 22 points in 18 playoff games. The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder played only four games last season after suffering a season-ending knee injury after a hit from Evansville’s Aaron Gens. A native of Belleville, Ontario, Auger was selected in the sixth round of the 2006 NHL draft by Chicago. He played four years at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell.

Jace Coyle

Position: Defense

Notes: The 6-foot, 200-pound native of Cranbrook, British Columbia, was acquired from Greenville for cash. He split the last two seasons between Texas of the AHL and Idaho of the ECHL. Last season, he had eight goals and 34 points in 54 games with Idaho and three assists in 10 games with Texas.

Simon Danis-Pepin

Age: 25

Notes: The Komets dealt All-Star defenseman Daniel Maggio to San Francisco for Danis-Pepin, a second-round draft pick of Chicago in 2006. He has played 75 games in the AHL, scoring two goals and 18 points. The 6-7, 240-pounder from Montreal is expected to man the power play.

John Dunbar

Age: 22

Notes: He split time last season between Fort Wayne and Pensacola of the SPHL, where he won a championship. He had five goals and 10 points in 17 games with the Komets, and he had 11 goals and 23 points in 27 games with Pensacola. The 5-8, 175-pound Calgary, Alberta, native is fast and finishes his scoring chances well.

Scott Fleming

Age: 25

Notes: He had three goals and an assist in six games in 2011-12 with Gwinnett of the ECHL but missed most of that season with a concussion before getting out of hockey altogether. He had 13 goals and 31 points in 32 games as a senior at Dartmouth in 2010-11. He is 5-11, 180 pounds and from Plainfield, Ontario.

Matt Firman

Notes: He was selected as the Komets’ Rookie of the Year last season, when he had 14 goals and 30 points in 69 games. The 6-3, 215-pound Fayetteville, N.Y., native played in college for Colgate. The defensive-minded forward had seven goals and 15 points in 39 games as a senior in 2011-12.

Kyle Follmer

Notes: The 5-11, 202-pound St. Paul, Minn., native is fresh out of college. He had three goals and 12 points in 36 games last season for Northern Michigan. He had six goals, 31 points and 117 penalty minutes in 57 games for Lincoln of the USHL in 2007-08.

Notes: He had one goal and four points in 17 games last season with the Komets. He also played for Bloomington of the CHL, getting six assists in 15 games. By the end of the season, he returned to Pensacola of the SPHL to play for current Komets coach Gary Graham and win a championship. He had three goals and 11 points there. The 6-2, 225-pounder is from Jackson, Mich.

Jake Hauswirth

Notes: The 6-5, 215-pound Houghton, Mich., native scored one goal in six games for Ontario’s ECHL team last season. With Arizona of the CHL, he had 15 goals and 28 points in 44 games. He’s spent 19 games in the AHL and had one assist.

Joe Hartman

Notes: The 6-3, 204-pound St. Cloud, Minn., native is a rookie out of Miami (Ohio). He had five assists and 24 penalty minutes in 36 games as a senior. He skated for the Indiana Ice of the USHL in 2008-09, totaling six goals, 28 points and 67 penalty minutes in 60 regular-season games.

Bobby Hughes

Notes: He had 15 goals and 39 points in 59 games last season with Alaska, which traded him to the Komets for Jean-Michel Rizk in the offseason. The 5-11, 180-pound Richmond Hill, Ontario, native was a fourth-round draft pick of Carolina in 2006. He’s played 58 games in the AHL, scoring 10 goals and 23 points.

Tristan King

Position: Center

Age: 22

Notes: The 6-0, 210-pound playmaker was assigned to the Komets’ by the NHL’s Dallas Stars. He played 52 ECHL games last season with Idaho and San Francisco, tallying 22 goals and 45 points. He has played 11 AHL games – scoring two goals and four points – but none since 2010-11. The Elk River, Minn., native has also played for ECHL teams in Greenville and Ontario.

Rob Kwiet

Age: 25

Notes: The 6-1, 218-pound Tornto native is expected to be a big point-producer. He had 10 goals and 37 points in 64 games last season for San Francisco, Greenville and Stockton of the ECHL. He has 42 games of AHL experience, but none since 2010-11. He played for the IHL’s Muskegon Fury in 2007-08.

Mickey Lang

Notes: The 5-9, 185-pound Reno, Nev., native spent last season with Quad City of the CHL, totaling 41 goals and 83 points in 64 games. He also made it to Rockford of the AHL for a game. He is a former linemate of Brandon Marino’s when they were in Quad City. This is his third professional season after he playing at Manhattanville College.

Brandon Marino

Notes: The 5-9, 185-pound Riverside, Calif., native scored 20 goals and 74 points in 71 games last season for the Komets and was selected MVP by his teammates. This is his fifth professional season and second with the Komets. He got to the AHL for one game last season but could move up again if he scores as abundantly as last season.

John Muse

Notes: The 5-11, 185-pound East Falmouth, Mass., native won NCAA championships at Boston College in 2008 and 2010 and led Florida to the ECHL title in 2012. He was 89-39-16 with a 2.40 goals-against average and 12 shutouts in college from 2007 to 2011. He was 16-6-3 with a 2.42 GAA and a .920 save percentage for Florida and 10-3-2 with a 1.81 GAA and a .941 save percentage for Charlotte of the AHL in 2011-12. He was 9-8-4 with a 3.66 GAA and a .884 save percentage for Florida and 7-7-1 with a 3.22 GAA and a .891 save percentage for Charlotte last season.

Nik Pokulok

Notes: The 6-5, 225-pound Vaudreuil, Quebec, native has 29 games of professional experience with Stockton of the ECHL last season, where he made it to the finals before losing to Reading. Prior to that, he skated for Clarkson University, getting one goal and five points his senior season.

Cody Reichard

Notes: The 5-11, 165-pound Celina, Ohio, native grew up a fan of the Komets. He had a successful junior career – he was the North American Hockey League’s MVP and Goaltender of the Year with Fairbanks in 2008 – and played in college for Miami (Ohio) from 2008 to 2012. He led the nation with a 1.87 GAA in his junior season, when he was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award as the top player in the nation, and he was the player of the year in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. He reached the 2009 NCAA title game.

Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock

Position: Right wing

Shoots: Right

Age: 29

Notes: In his fifth season, he is the longest-tenured Komet. He was an alternate captain the last four years. He is a native of Fort Wayne. He is coming off a down season – he had 10 goals, 20 points and 168 penalty minutes in 69 games. The 5-11, 180-pound Schrock expects to attack the net and score more this season, bring more leadership and continue to be the guy who fires up his teammates and fans.

Nick Tuzzolino

Position: Defense

Age: 27

Notes: A seventh-round draft pick of the New York Islanders in 2005, he played six games as a rookie with the Komets in the UHL during 2007, and is now team captain. The 6-6, 225-pounder is expected to use his size to punish opponents, while also contributing on offense. He had five goals, 36 points and 160 penalty minutes in 44 games last season with Utah, while also playing 14 AHL games for Abbotsford.

Mike Vaskivuo

Position: Forward

Age: 27

Notes: The 6-1, 195-pound Helsinki, Finland, native was selected as Playoff MVP in 2012, when the Komets won the CHL title. He had 10 goals and 24 points in 18 postseason games. He spent last season in Europe. He had 15 goals and 28 points in 23 games with Grenoble in France. This is his fifth professional season.
