Two men in black pants and hooded sweatshirts robbed a gas station on the city’s northeast side early Thursday.
According to initial Fort Wayne police reports, at least one of the robbers at 6321 E. State Blvd. had a gun. An attendant was cleaning inside the Shell station when the men came in about 1 a.m., grabbed his shirt and forced him to open the cash register.
A police dog tracked them to the back of a nearby closed business, where the trail ended, one of the reports said.
The station at State Boulevard and Maplecrest Road was robbed at gunpoint early July 23. The robbery was followed by a police chase in which two suspects were captured.
Someone also tried to rob the station at 12:06 a.m. June 25. Police said the man approached the register, pulled a knife and demanded cash. Unable to get any money, police said, the man fled empty-handed.
Anyone with information about the robbery can call Fort Wayne police at 427-1201, or Crime Stoppers at 436-7867.
