Carroll (7-2) at Homestead (5-4): After losing nine straight to the Spartans, the Chargers have a chance to make it two straight wins in the first round of the sectional. Carroll beat Homestead 51-34 three weeks ago. After beating DeKalb 79-7, the Chargers have won four straight games. The Spartans, who lost to New Haven 45-20, have lost three in a row.
Bishop Dwenger (6-3) at Northridge (7-2): The Saints ended a three-game losing streak last week with a 36-2 win over Bishop Luers, while the Raiders have won 3 of 4 after beating Elkhart Memorial 27-0. The two teams have met only one time previously, with Dwenger winning 28-0 in the 2009 sectional.
Garrett (4-5) at Heritage (6-3): These teams met just last week with the Patriots rallying from a three-touchdown deficit in a 26-21 win in the regular-season finale. The postseason matchup switches locations, with the game at Heritage. The Patriots are 2-2 in their last four games, while the Railroaders are 1-4 in their last five.
Eastside (4-5) at Churubusco (7-2): After starting 7-0, the Eagles have dropped two straight to Fairfield (35-14) and Lakeland (14-13). Eastside, on the other hand, has won three in a row after a 34-13 win over Prairie Heights. The two teams played in the regular season, with the Eagles winning 31-13.
Southwood (6-3) at Fremont (2-7): The host Eagles will try to use their home-field advantage in this sectional matchup. Fremont is 2-3 this year at home, with two close losses. With a 32-12 loss to West Noble, the Eagles have lost four straight, while the Knights have won four in a row, including a 51-7 win over Wabash.
