  • Challenge accepted

Mickey Lang leads the Komets with three goals in three games this season.

Dropping like flies

The Komets are only three games into the season -- and 0-2-1 -- but they're facing a bigger obstacle than their record right now.

That would be injuries.

The Komets were already without Bobby Hughes, who blocked a shot in Saturday's 5-4 loss to Cincinnati in an overtime shootout. Now Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock has a knee injury and Mickey Lang is out, too, with an undisclosed injury.

I saw at least one other player get injured in practice today.

I don't think any of these are serious, but we'll see if everyone makes the trip to Las Vegas for games Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

This trip is logistically difficult for the Komets, since they are flying and then have a game in Evansville on Nov. 6. They actually left a bunch of stuff there because it would be easier.
