Notre Dame women ranked No. 6 in preseason AP Top 25

Notre Dame will open the women's basketball season in both preseason polls.

The Irish were ranked No. 6 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll, which was released Friday.

Notre Dame was ranked No. 7 in the USA Today coaches poll, which was released Wednesday.

The Irish went 35-2 last season and reached the Final Four for the third year in a row. Notre Dame lost to Connecticut, which is ranked No. 1 in both preseason polls, in the national championship semifinals.

The Irish open the season at home against UNC Wilmington at 1 p.m. Nov. 9.
