Arts Update

AT THE LIBRARY:

•“Open Art” will take place for home-school families from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza.

•“Yarn Lover’s Gathering” will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Woodburn Branch 4701 Indiana 101 N., Woodburn.

AUDITIONS:

FUNDRAISER RESULTS: “An Evening in Paris,” the Tibbits Opera House auction, recently raised more than $60,000 for the general operations of the theater.

MOORE ATTENDS CONVENTION: Ron Moore of Fort Wayne recently attended the Piano Technicians Guild Annual Convention and Technical Institute in Chicago.

PAINTING LECTURE: “En Plein Air” or painting in the outdoors, will be discussed with artist Tom Keesee and art history professor Esperanca Camara at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the University of Saint Francis North Campus auditorium, 2702 Spring St.

PIRATE PROGRAM: “Tibbits Ahoy! A Pirate Adventure” will be presented from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Tibbits Opera House, Coldwater, Mich. The event is open to students in grades 1 to 5 and includes games, songs, sword play, food and treasure. Cost is $10 for students and $5 for adults who wish to stay. PRINCESS TEA: Fort Wayne Ballet will present “Princess Tea” from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Fort Wayne Country Club, 5221 Covington Road.
