Local instructor named state Lutheran schools' teacher of year

Holly Ehle, a kindergarten teacher at St. Peter's Lutheran School in Fort Wayne, has been named the state Lutheran schools' teacher of the year, the local Lutheran schools have announced.

The honor is given to a teacher in the Indiana District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod who best demonstrates the characteristics of exemplary teaching, the Lutheran Schools Partnership said in a statement.

Ehle received the award during a Lutheran education convocation in Milwaukee last month.

She began teaching at St. Peter's preschool in 2004 and has been the kindergarten teacher there since 2011.
