Jets surge past Red Wings

WINNIPEG, Manitoba — Matt Halishuck scored the winner with his first goal with Winnipeg and the Jets snapped a three-game losing streak with a 4-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Monday.

Bryan Little, Michael Frolik and Andrew Ladd also scored for the Jets (6-8-2).

Henrik Zetterberg scored his eighth of the season for Detroit (9-5-2), and Danny DeKeyser scored his first NHL career goal.

The Jets took it to the Detroit net in the first period, outshooting the Red Wings 14-9 and scoring with just a minute left on a breakaway. They ended the game ahead 47-28.

Little opened the scoring when he got the jump on defenseman Kyle Quincy, who fell and left Winnipeg's leading scorer to go in alone against Jimmy Howard. It was Little's team-leading eighth goal of the season.
