A would-be robber became the 40th homicide victim in Allen County on Monday morning while attempting to break into an apartment at the Black Bear Creek Apartments on the city’s northeast side.

2. Berry closed for next month

Berry Street closure will begin Tuesday and run through Dec. 4, according to a statement issued Monday by the Fort Wayne Traffic Engineering Department.

4. Bank chief, civic leader Jack Lehman dies

Jack Lehman, a Berne native and former president of Fort Wayne National Bank who helped found the English, Bonter, Mitchell charity foundation and was involved in a lengthy list of charitable organizations, died Saturday.

Singer-songwriter and Fort Wayne native Courtney Leigh Heins won best country song of the year at the International Music and Entertainment Association Awards on Saturday
