A Pierceton man was arrested Tuesday after displaying a firearm while driving on U.S. 30 in Allen County, Indiana Excise Police said today.
Dale Riley, 51, was preliminarily charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, excise police said in a statement.
The statement said an excise officer in an unmarked vehicle was driving east on U.S. 30 near Kroemer Road about 11:05 a.m. when Riley's car abruptly merged into the officer's lane, causing the officer to brake to avoid a collision.
Riley raised his arms angrily, the statement said. It said the officer then saw Riley raise a handgun and point it to the roof of his car two or three times, and Riley appeared to be chambering a round into the handgun.
Officers stopped the vehicle and located a 9 mm handgun, as well as a radar gun used to measure speed and an in-car video camera system, the statement said.
