Let's get this out there straightaway: I am severely biased about this subject.
"This subject" being this: The jersey the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL will wear Sunday to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address.
As a long-standing Civil War nerd of the highest order, I happen to think this jersey is awesome. In fact, I want one.
(Which is more than I can say for the Rockford IceHogs jersey, which lacks only the Frito Bandito and the Taco Bell chihuahua to complete the racially offensive trifecta).
One thing about the Condors' jersey, though: Thirteen of their players are Canadian. In which case, they should get equal time.
I say that at some point in the future, the Condors take the ice in jerseys decorated with excerpts from yesterday's news conference by Toronto Mayor Rob "Drunken Stupor" Ford.
Works for me.
