Justin Tranquill, a 2015 prospect out of Carroll and the younger brother of 2014 Purdue commitment Drue Tranquill, received a scholarship offer from the Boilermakers on Tuesday.
Justin Tranquill is a running back prospect who also has offers from Eastern Michigan and Toledo. He visited West Lafayette unofficially with his brother for Purdue's game against Ohio State.
Drue Tranquill, who is committed to the Boilermakers but also is considering Notre Dame, plans to make his final decision shortly after Carroll's season ends. The Chargers play Carmel in a Class 6A regional game Friday.
Drue Tranquill told The Journal Gazette on Sunday that his brother, who is also being recruited by both schools, had a better chance at early playing time at Purdue.
The chance to play alongside his brother was "a major pro," Drue Tranquill said, and the offer from the Boilers to Justin Tranquill could help solidify his commitment.
