Sometimes Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer absolutely red-lines the Sanctimony Meter, which backs up into my Oh, Please Meter and causes it to overflow.
Not to get into plumbing issues or anything.
Still, it happened again yesterday, when Meyer expressed displeasure with OSU wideout Evan Spencer for, essentially, saying what Meyer himself thinks. Apparently it was bad form for Spencer to express confidence that Ohio State could beat the dog out of Florida State or Alabama, the two teams ahead of the Buckeyes in the BCS, even though Meyer's been voting that conviction all season.
The other day, after all, he said he'd been voting the Buckeyes No.2 behind 'Bama, expressing his unstated but obvious belief that his football team deserves to play for the national championship ahead of the Seminoles.
Yet he's apparently going to ban Spencer from speaking to the media ("Evan won't talk to the media for a long, long time") for believing the same thing, only being more forthright about it.
Come on, Coach. Really?
