College football preview: Trine at Alma

Records: Trine (4-5, 1-4 MIAA), Alma (0-9, 0-5)

When: 1 p.m. Saturday

Where: Bahlke Field, Alma, Mich.

Radio: 88.3 FM

Scouting report: The Thunder snapped its five-game losing streak in the most dramatic fashion possible last week, beating Olivet 47-41 in overtime thanks to late touchdowns by Frank Vuocolo and Jared Barton, then winning it on a 4-yard run by Vuocolo in overtime. Now they get more good news – winless Alma – and a golden shot at closing the season with a .500 record. Alma enters the game giving up 35.6 points and 379.7 yards per game, while scoring just 11.3 points and averaging 235.5 yards. That plays into a Trine team that’s coming off a 411-yard performance.
