7-year fugitive captured in Angola

A man accused of evading child molesting charges for the past seven years was arrested early Saturday in a motel room in Steuben County, Indiana State Police said.

Terry Wayne Waugh Jr., 30, of St. Joseph County, was charged there with four counts of child molesting.

Waugh has been wanted in St. Joseph County for seven years, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

He was located in a motel in the 3800 block of north Indiana 127, near Pokagon State Park in Steuben County.

Police arrested Waugh shortly after midnight Friday when they descended upon the motel and found him hiding in the bathroom of one of the motel rooms.

Waugh eventually gave himself up without incident, police said, and was taken into custody.

He was in the Steuben County Jail awaiting transportation back to St. Joseph County.
