IPFW women win with depth

– The IPFW women’s basketball team showed its depth as 14 players scored for the Mastodons in their 99-54 home win Wednesday over Grace (2-6).

Haley Seibert and Rachel Rinehart led IPFW (2-4) with 19 points while Ariana Simmons added a season-high 17 points off the bench. Amanda Hyde added 10.

IPFW coach Chris Paul used all 15 players, with 14 of them scoring.


EVANSVILLE 80, BALL STATE 69: The Cardinals remained winless with a road loss.

Shelbie Justice led Ball State (0-3) with 14 points, while Nathalie Fontaine added 12.

Evansville (2-3) got 22 points from Sara Dickey.


INDIANA TECH 62, AQUINAS 56: Freshman Tanner Watkins scored 16 points in the Warriors’ home win.

Watkins was 4 of 9 on 3-pointers.

John Cooksey had 13 points and Jeremy Wohltman added 10 for Indiana Tech (4-4, 1-0 WHAC).

EVANSVILLE 100, VALPARAISO 92: In Evansville, D.J. Balentine made six 3-pointers and scored 32 points as Evansville (4-0) held on to beat Valparaiso (2-3).
