IU men, women finish well at NCAA cross country championships

The Indiana men's cross country team finished eighth in the country and the women 14th at the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute on Saturday.

The Hoosiers posted their third top-10 finish in the past four seasons to finish out the best four-year stretch for IU since 1977-80. Three runners finished in the top-55 for the Hoosiers on the men's side.

Fort Wayne native and Carroll grad Samantha Ginther led the women with an 84th place finish. She rounded out her career with a spot on the best IU team since 2002, when the women also finished 14th in the Championships.
