Indy announcement Tuesday

I've been told there should be an announcement Tuesday regarding the new professional hockey team in Indianapolis.

We, as previously reported, believe that team will be named the Fuel.

The owner of the team will be Jim Hallett, who had owned the Indianapolis Ice at one point, people invited to the press conference have told me.

The league has not been stated yet, though I'm sure the Komets are desperate for it to be in the ECHL.

Interesting subplot, though, is I had been led to believe that if an ECHL team were coming, it would be owned by another ECHL ownership group (not the Komets). To my knowledge, Hallett doesn't fit that criteria.

So, cue the idea that maybe this is an American Hockey League team.
