Purdue guard and Northrop graduate Bryson Scott earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors, the conference announced Monday.
The 6-foot-1, 201-pound former Bruin led the Boilermakers in scoring during two wins in the week.
Scott had a game-high 14 points, along with six rebounds and four steals in 15 minutes of play, during Purdue's 83-55 win over Eastern Illinois on Wednesday. He followed that up with career highs in points (16) and assists (three) in an 81-73 win over Siena on Sunday.
This is the first freshman of the week accolade for Scott. The last Purdue player to earn the award was Fort Wayne native Rapheal Davis, who got freshman of the week honors the week of March 11 last season.
