Lang’s hat trick carries Komets

– A night after he was called out publicly by coach Gary Graham, Mickey Lang responded Sunday with a hat trick in the Komets’ 5-4 victory at Evansville.

“I think the players and I had a good heart-to-heart in the pregame meeting,” said Graham, who blasted several players, namely Lang, captain Nick Tuzzolino, Mike Vaskivuo and Jace Coyle.

“They know I got passionate (Saturday) because I care. We’re just trying to create good habits that winning teams have.”

Lang had the game-winning goal – his third goal of the night – at 8:32 of the third period for a 5-3 lead.

Tuzzolino didn’t make the trip with the Komets.

“I thought it would be good chance for him to think about his game and role with his team,” Graham said.

The Komets also got goals from Brandon Marino and Scott Fleming.
