Homestead girls run roughshod over Marion

Karissa McLaughlin scored 31 points Tuesday to lead the Homestead girls basketball team to a 87-44 victory over visiting Marion.

The Spartans opened the game with a 28-12 run and took control in the second quarter with a 25-3 run.

Sydney Buck added 19 points for Homestead.

NEW HAVEN 57, BLUFFTON 30: At New Haven, Hannah Hope scored 14 points and Ja’Nyia Grundy added 11 for the Bulldogs. Bluffton’s Erin McKinley had 15 points.

GARRETT 62, ANGOLA 48: In Angola, Brandi Dawson led the Railroaders with 24 points on 10-of-19 shooting. Claire Grubb had 15 for the Hornets.

LEO 52, COLUMBIA CITY 45: In Columbia City, Jenna Beer led the Lions with 17 points.

BISHOP LUERS 75, BISHOP DWENGER 25: At Luers, Addie Reimbold scored 18 points.

DEKALB 116, ANGOLA 36: In Waterloo, Brycen Spangler won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:10.33 and the 500 free in 6:08.64.

NORWELL 110, COLUMBIA CITY 68: In Ossian, Logan Ackley won the 100 free in 52.33 and the 100 backstroke in 57.51.

Girls swimming

WAWASEE 129, EAST NOBLE 57: In Syracuse, Paige Miller won the 200 free in 2:00.23 and the 500 free in 5:16.06. Teammate Breanna Robinson won the 100 butterfly in 57.38 seconds and the 100 back in 57.20.

CARROLL 211, NORTHROP 71: At Carroll, Alison Sobczak won diving with 159.60 points.
