Welcome to Turkey Night

We interrupt your regularly scheduled Ice Chips to bring you Ice Chips from Justin Cohn's stunt double, Ben Smith. Here are a few pregame tidbits to get you ready for the Komets annual Thanksgiving night feast ...

* The opponent tonight, the Florida Everblades, is extremely comfortable away from home. The Everblades are 12-4-1-1, one point behind frontrunning South Carolina in the Eastern Conference, and they're 9-2-1 on the road. The Komets, by contrast are an even-across-the-board 2-2-1-2 at home.

*Defenseman Jordon Southorn, acquired from Elmira this week for Nick Tuzzolino, is in the starting lineup this evening. The only scratch is defenseman Nik Pokulok.

* Bret Lyon, who left the Komets earlier this week in a dispute over his role with the team, signed with the Utica Comets of the AHL.

* On-ice officials for tonight's game are referee Frederic Leblanc and linesmen Francois Dussurealt and Patrick Richardson.
