Service set for man killed in apartment


A Heal the Land prayer service is scheduled at 12:15 p.m. Saturday where Demetrius Lamar Masterson, 29, was found dead last month.

Members of the Peace and Justice Commission of Allen County, a nonprofit group that sponsors services to reclaim for good the sites of shootings and stabbings, will gather at 7425 Placer Run.

Masterson's death was ruled a homicide, the 42nd in Allen County in 2013. All but two happened in the city of Fort Wayne.
