  • Clarke is K's Mr. Steady
The Komets rely on their veterans to temper the enthusiasm of the highs and get through the frustration of the lows. And no one in the locker room is more even keel than Aaron Clarke, a 31-year-old forward.
  • Royals bolstered
The Reading Royals' lineup was bolstered today, as Dustin Gazley was sent down by Hershey of the American Hockey League. He had eight goals and 15 points in 42 games with Hershey.
  • A Brittain story
Josh Brittain is looking forward to being back at, as he called it, “The Jungle” on Thursday for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.

Gratz has contacted K's

Here's what Komets general manager David Franke said on the possibility of bringing in Brian Gratz as an assistant coach: "He's already contacted me. I don't know where we'll stand with it. It's something we'll talk about. We'll see if we want to do anything with anybody (as an assistant coach). There are other people out there that I'm interested in, too, if we brought in some specialty coaches. We'll all sit down and discuss this probably after this weekend."

So, it seems that having an assistant coach has been on the radar anyway.

Franke also said that Bobby Hughes isn't making the trip to Elmira, N.Y., because of shoulder and groin injuries. And Jeremy Gates has been cleared to practice after being out with a foot injury.
