Two men wearing Christmas-themed pajamas robbed a Dollar General store at gunpoint Thursday night, forcing employees to the floor before stealing money and cigarettes.
An employee told police she was at the front of the store at 3121 E. State Blvd. when the first man entered shortly after 9 p.m.
He forced her to the corner of the store and told her to lie down on the floor while the second man confronted another employee, forcing her to the register at gunpoint, according to police reports.
One of the men told the employee he didnt want to hurt her and was only committing the robbery because he had a baby and was going to give the money to the childs mother and then leave for Chicago.
The men stole an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register, several packs of cigarettes and one of the employees cellphones before fleeing.
The employee said both men were dressed similarly in multicolored pajama pants that had Christmas-themed patterns and phrases like Happy Holiday and were carrying black handguns.
Both were wearing Nike shoes that were gray with orange or red soles and had black jackets. They had their faces covered with black masks that had no visible eye, nose or mouth holes.
Both men were also wearing gloves that were light blue on the palms and dark blue on the back, according to police reports.
