Forwards Chris Auger and Brandon Marino scored twice as the Komets picked up their biggest victory of the season.
They defeated the defending-champion Reading Royals 7-2 in front of 4,123 fans at Santander Arena in Pennsylvania on Saturday night.
Auger had three points and a plus-4 rating, as the Komets have taken three out of a possible four points so far on their four-game road trip.
The Komets play today at Elmira, N.Y., where they lost 4-3 in an overtime shootout Friday night.
Forwards Scott Fleming, Mike Vaskivuo and Mickey Lang also scored Saturday for the Komets (8-7-4), who got their first victory in four meetings with the Royals (10-7-1).
Lang leads the ECHL with 15 goals, two more than Toledo’s Trevor Parkes and Florida’s Matthew Pistilli. Lang’s 23 points are tied for sixth most in the league, eight points behind ECHL-leading Pistilli.
Goaltender Andrey Makarov had 31 saves for Fort Wayne.
Brandon Anderson had 24 for Reading.
Defenseman Jace Coyle had three assists and was plus-4 for the Komets.
Fleming was also plus-4.
