    If you are interested in this sort of thing, here is a lawsuit that was filed against the ECHL by the CHL, in which it is alleged the ECHL tried to "poach" the Rapid City Rush and Allen Americans.

    Former Komets player Kevin Kaminski has been hired to coach the Portland Junior Pirates.
  • Mesiner signs with CHL team
    Goaltender Ben Meisner, who played last season for the Komets, has signed to play with Allen of the CHL this season.

By the way, do you really think not having an affiliation is why the Komets are a .500 team? I know I've said it before, but I just don't see it. That argument conveys there's a lack of talent. And if there's not enough talent, how have they gotten a lead in almost every game?

And it bears noting that these "CHL guys," who some others knock, are the very guys who are playing the best for the Komets. Hello, Mickey Lang.

So, anyway, I just don't think affiliation is the reason for this.

It's about consistency, which means the players either don't have it mentally right now or the coach isn't getting the best out of them. Or both.
