Mad Antics

  • Mad Ants open D-League Finals with win
The Mad Ants defeated Santa Cruz 102-92 in Game 1 of the finals Thursday night in Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz, California.
  • What win would mean for Henry
I've been asked many times in recent days what a D-League championship would mean for Mad Ants coach Conner Henry. In other words, could he parlay that into an NBA head coaching job?
  • Ron Howard is league co-MVP
Hours before he opens the D-League Finals in Santa Cruz, California, Mad Ants guard Ron Howard has been chosen as league Co-MVP today.

Mad Ants release Terrance Henry

The Mad Ants have released Terrance Henry, who was averaging 5.0 points per game for Fort Wayne (1-3), which plays host to Iowa on Thursday night at Memorial Coliseum.

So what does this mean? We don't know yet.

"This frees up a spot for somebody else going into the weekend," coach Conner Henry said.

It'll likely either be Chris Hunter, who hasn't played since 2011-12 because of injuries to his Achilles tendons, or rookie Titus Robinson, who has yet to make his debut.

There is a lot of excitement around the Mad Ants regarding Hunter; they believe he could be the best big man in the D-League if he can get healthy. If he's activated, look for the team to really limit his minutes at first.
