Pence to name auditor Monday

Gov. Mike Pence will name a new state auditor Monday – the third Indiana has had this year.

Auditor Dwayne Sawyer submitted a resignation letter abruptly in November after serving only a few months. The effective date of that resignation is Sunday.

Rumors have swirled about the departure, but nothing has been officially confirmed other than for personal and family reasons.

Pence came to the decision on a new auditor Friday and planned to offer the job that day. He said the GOP had a deep bench of quality men and women to choose from.
