Drug charges, arrest follow raid

A Fort Wayne man was arrested and his house condemned Friday after police said they found heroin, marijuana, pills and other drug-related items.

Robert Allen Koenig Jr., 31, was being investigated for selling heroin at the residence over several weeks, Fort Wayne police said.

During a search at 132 E. DeWald St. at 8:30 a.m., officers found 74.2 grams of marijuana, one-tenth of a gram of heroin, about $440, scales, paraphernalia and several prescription pills.

Neighborhood Code Enforcement determined the house was in need of repairs before it could be inhabited, and the house was condemned. A dog and cat were taken from the home by Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control.

Koenig was not home during the raid but was arrested later. He’s charged with possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, maintaining a common nusiance, possession of a controlled substance and three counts of dealing heroin, all felonies.

He was being held in lieu of $160,000 bail.
