Dwenger opens season with win

– Grady Eifert had 19 points and Kyle Hartman added 14 as Bishop Dwenger beat host Concordia 56-48 in an SAC boys basketball game Friday.

The Saints (1-0, 1-0 SAC) were making their season opener because of the football team’s run to the Class 4A state finals, while the Cadets fell to 1-2 and 0-1.

Reggie Tharp and D.J. McCall each had 13 points for Concordia.


NORWELL 50, COLUMBIA CITY 46: The visiting Knights (5-1, 1-1 NHC) got 12 points from Stephanie Conrad. Emily Whiteleather led Columbia City (6-2, 1-1) with 21 points.

SNIDER 76, NORTH SIDE 46: The visiting Panthers took a 45-15 halftime advantage and cruised to the conference win. Snider (3-4, 1-0 SAC) got 23 points from Deja Wimby.

NORTHROP 43, WAYNE 38: Aleah Swary had 26 points and 10 rebounds for the host Bruins (3-3, 1-0).

GARRETT 72, ADAMS CENTRAL 34: The visiting Railroaders (9-0, 3-0 ACAC) were led by Brandi Dawson’s double-double (21 points, 12 rebounds).


NORTHROP 67, WAYNE 58: Enis Becirevic had 24 points to lead the host Bruins (3-3, 1-0) past the Generals (3-1, 0-1).

BISHOP LUERS 81, SOUTH SIDE 76: Andre Grant had 20 points and J.J. Foster added 15 for the visiting Knights (2-0, 1-0 SAC). Donovan Clark had 24 points for the Archers (0-3, 0-1).
