I must say, the goaltending in the Komets' 2-1 shootout loss to defending-champion Reading was amazing.
Check out the video above if you don't believe me.
If Andrey Makarov can fix the one hitch in his game -- the rebounds he gives up -- he won't be here long.
"We got the point (in the standings) but we probably needed two tonight. We're relying too much on our goaltending. Marky made some big saves tonight and kept us in the game, but their goalie made some big saves, too," said Mickey Lang, who had Fort Wayne's regulation-time goal by skating from his own zone with the puck and putting a slap shot from the right circle into the bottom of the net 10:07 into the second period.
"We've got to take advantage of our 3-on-2 (rushes) and our 2-on-1s, and our power play is killing us right now. We're working on it but we can't seem to find an answer right now."
Wouldn't you like to get in the head of coaches, though, when they decide who to send out in shootouts? Jordon Southorn and Simon Danis-Pepin instead of Scott Fleming? The Komets are 0-4 in shootouts. Reading is 4-0.
A reminder on the comments within these blogs: No profanity, no not-so-cute tweaking of profanity so it looks clean but really isn't (Hit Somebody, that means you), and please don't attack each other. Discuss. Be passionate. That's fine. But you all have been getting a little out of control. Wouldn't you like more people commenting? Because every day I have people tell me they want to do so, but don't want to be berated for stating their opinions.
