Flood watch from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning

The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana issued a flood watch today for most of The Journal Gazette's coverage areas in Indiana and Ohio.

There is the potential for 1 to 3 inches of rain, but the weather service said the exact track of the heaviest rainfall is still uncertain.

Rainfall is expected to be heaviest from Saturday night to Sunday morning, and it might flood low lying areas as well as streams and creeks.

Main stream river levels will see significant rises and potential flooding into next week, the weather service said.

A flood watch is in effect from Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning for the following counties.

In Indiana:

-Adams

-Allen

-DeKalb

-Huntington

-Kosciusko

-Noble

-Wabash

-Wells

-Whitley

-Jay

In Ohio:

-Defiance

-Paulding

-Van Wert

-Williams

A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts.

We will post updates as they become available.
