Mitchell's shot erases North Side's woes

Almost nothing was going right for North Side in the first three quarters against Snider on Saturday in the final of the SAC boys basketball tournament.

The Redskins trailed 17-14 after one quarter, 29-25 at halftime and 44-38 after three quarters.

One shot seemed to cure what was ailing North Side.

Because of Oosha Mitchell's 3-pointer at the buzzer, North Side walked off 54-51 winners over Snider and SAC tournament champions.

"We weren't playing North Side basketball," North Side senior Tre'Vion Crews said. "We were slowing up the tempo, and we started getting it together and playing our basketball and playing at our pace."

The top-seeded Redskins (8-0) were flat and nothing like the way they played a day earlier in a 65-54 win over No. 4 Bishop Dwenger.

"Our intensity for the first game was very hyped, and I wish we could have come out with that same intensity," Crews said.

Mitchell scored 21 points, and Crews added 17.
