  • K's fall to 5 in power rankings, get new player
The Komets have signed Brett Beebe, who was in training camp with them and has been playing with Pensacola of the Southern Professional Hockey League.
  • Things to check out
For the first time this season, the Komets aren't on top of the Eastern Conference standings. Losing three of five games will do that to a team.
  • Bad loss yields great highlights
Even though the Komets lost 3-1 to the Greenville Road Warriors -- and lost their hold on first place in the Eastern Conference for the first time this season -- I think you will enjoy the highlights in the video here.

Komets' comeback falls short

The Komets just ran out of time.

Trailing by two goals and with their goaltender pulled, they had a 6-on-3 power play with 1:28 remaining Sunday.

One goal they got, courtesy of defenseman Simon Danis-Pepin, but they never got another good shot on net and lost 3-2 to the Gwinnett Gladiators at Memorial Coliseum.

Also scoring for the Komets was Brandon Marino, who also had a late goal waved off by referee Chris Pitoscia.

Gwinnett got goals from Josh Currie, Brenden Walker, who scored from just inside center ice, and Maxime Legault.

In his debut with the Komets, goaltender Ben Meisner stopped 22 of 25 shots. Brad Phillips stopped 30 of 31 shots for Gwinnett.
