Car slams into house, driver shot with Taser

FORT WAYNE – A car ended up in the living room of a house on the city's southeast side early Monday.

According to supplemental reports supplied by the Fort Wayne Police Department, a short high-speed chase started about 3:25 a.m. in the area of Ashcroft Drive and Hessen Cassel Road and ended at 2402 Paulding Road.

Officers said the driver acted as if he was looking for an escape route after the crash, so he was shot with a Taser.

The police said the driver's blood-alcohol level tested at 0.185 percent and that a handgun and baggie with a material that appeared to be marijuana were found in the silver Nissan with Ohio plates.

The driver was taken to a local hospital.
