Unbeaten North Side advances in tourney

North Side remained unbeaten and reached the semifinals of the Bob Wettig Basketball Tournament in Richmond with a 74-57 victory over Jennings County on Friday.

North got 27 points from Tre’Vion Crews, 17 from Jeremy Jones and 14 and eight rebounds from Mike Davis on a night when the Redskins shot 50 percent (33 of 66). They’re now 10-0 on the season.

Boys basketball

JEFFERSONVILLE 76, NORWELL 74: In Richmond, the Knights came up just short against Jeffersonville in the Bob Wettig Tournament. David Vogel scored 22 points, Brent Bales and Austin Hayden 18 apiece and Drew Shively scored 12 with 12 rebounds for the Knights.

Girls basketball

KOKOMO 62, CARROLL 61, OT: At Carroll, Kokomo outscored the Chargers 8-7 in overtime after Carroll overcame a 26-16 halftime deficit. Kierstin Murphy scored 15 points for the Chargers.

Wrestling

Adams Central is one of three No. 1 seeds for today’s IHSWCA Team State Dual Meet tournament at Westfield.

The Jets are the defending Class A champions. Leo is the No. 2 seed in 2A, and Fremont is No. 2 seed in 1A. Other northeast Indiana teams include East Noble (2A), Churubusco (1A) and South Adams (1A).
