Mad Ants win do-over

So who says there's no such thing as do-overs?

Not the Mad Ants and the Texas Legend, surely.

In a do-over of the finish of their season-opening game Nov. 22 at Texas, the Mad Ants and Legend replayed the final 0.9 seconds, then went overtime before the Mad Ants won 105-99 in Reno, Nev., at the D-League Showcase.

The end of the game was replayed after a Mad Ants protest of their one-point loss Nov. 22 was upheld by the D-League. Texas made the winning free throw after the Mad Ants were assessed a technical foul for calling a timeout the official scorers mistakenly told them they had.

As it turned out, they were out of timeouts, so the Legend won by one.

But the successful Mad Ants protest reverted the score to 99-99, and, after the Mad Ants failed to score on an inbounds play that was more than six weeks in the making, they outscored Texas 6-0 in the overtime to claim the win and go to 9-6 for the season.
