City bracing for flood risk

With warmer temperatures and rain comes melting snow, and along with that comes city workers on the lookout for possible flooding throughout areas of Fort Wayne.

In some spots there are pumps running and crews ready to go should there be flooding. But city officials say they expect to see some street flooding but nothing major.

City officials said people can always call 311, then dial 2, if they see any flooding or have any problems and to dislodge ice that is clogging drains.

Commissioners keep officers

The Allen County commissioners will retain their slate of officers for 2014.

During the board’s legislative session Friday, Therese Brown was re-elected president. She represents the 2nd District.

Nelson Peters represents the 1st District and was re-elected vice president. Linda Bloom, 3rd District, was selected to continue as secretary.
