Pharmacy purchase leads to 2 arrests

A wanted Warsaw man was arrested Friday after he tried to illegally buy Sudafed at a grocery store.

According to a statement from the Warsaw Police Department, Jack Daniels, 31, was arrested around 9 a.m. Friday after he tried to buy the medication from the pharmacy. The purchase was denied and, the pharmacist was alerted.

When police arrived, they found a warrant for Daniels’ arrest for failure to return to lawful detention. A woman with him, Kristi Cain, 29, also of Warsaw, had precursors to the manufacture of methamphetamine on her, and she too was arrested.

When police went to Daniels’ residence in a mobile home park, they found multiple burned one-pot meth labs, as well as paraphernalia and ingredients. Two children were removed from the home by the Indiana Department of Child Services.

Daniels was arrested on the outstanding warrant as well as on a charge of attempting to purchase methamphetamine precursors, according to the police department.
